Syndicate Pro SQL Installation Instructions

Once purchased, the database and program are emailed to you.  Follow these directions to install and configure Syndicate Pro™.

Install Database

  1. The Syndicate Pro™ database is emailed as script file.   Follow these directions to create the database.
  2. Now add a user for this new database. 

Install Program

  1. Create a Sub Directory off of your main web site.  This directory will house the Syndicate Pro™ software so give it a familiar name such as "SyndicatePro".  For example, if your domain name is http://www.yourdomain.com, you might create a directory called http://www.yourdomain.com/syndicatepro
  2. Extract Syndicate Pro™ into this directory including the images subdirectory.  DO NOT PLACE A COPY OF OUR ZIP FILE ANYWHERE ON YOUR WEB SITE.
  3. Set the permissions for the newly created SyndicatePro directory to allow files to be browsed and allow scripts to be run.  
  4. Update the db.asp script to reflect your database connection.   We recommend connecting to the database using OLE DB and avoiding a DSN connection.  OLEDB provides better performance.
  5. Run the application in your browser by accessing http://www.yourdomain.com/SyndicatePro/adminmain.asp, set the preferences and change the administrative name and password.  Note that the administration script is called adminmain.asp.  The username and password are currently set to Admin1/Admin1 and is case sensitive.
